It may be the second week of racing here in Kenya but we are just as excited as the first. And so were our runners as they caught sightings of Black and White Rhino literally minutes from the start-line. The heat certainly hasn’t subsided, and the wildlife has been as abundant as ever. In camp this evening the runners are sharing stories of their sightings (and their blisters.)

Karl Alvarez took the pack by storm as he took the win in this first stage. Following up in second was Katsushige Hoshino and in joint third were James Pattison and Angel Elenkov. The first three women over the line were Rachel Belmont, Hannah Goldring and Rosie Blackie.

Congratulations to today’s winners. The full results are below. Tomorrow’s stage begins a little earlier at 0700 (0500 UK). Follow live via our GPS tracker and look out for updates on Facebook and Instagram.
